Does this sound familiar?
You take FOREVER to connect to and zero in on what you want to do. And when you’ve finally figured it out, instead of going full speed ahead, you come to an abrupt stop.
Why?
Because action requires courage and all of us could use an extra dose of it when we are embarking on a new journey.
Once you’ve decided to make the first steps into this new life, started to walk the walk, talk the talk…and BE the person you want to be, you need to keep the momentum and energy going around you so that this new role flourishes.
You need to feed the magic.
So what are you going to do to keep things going? Joining the groups isn’t where it ends, now you’ve got to make sure that you participate in the groups. Take on a role within it that makes you responsible for growing. Again, we know that this can be uncomfortable, but fake it til you make it and eventually you will become what you believe you are.
If you weren’t able to find groups to join, CREATE one. The internet is an endless resource of places to find like-minded people that you can connect with.
Something that is also very important as well, is the need to make sure that you have created a space in your home – or found one if necessary outside of your home – that honors this new life and role. Dedicate a corner, an entire room, or a place outside, that is where you go to work and only do the things that feed and flourish the job that you are making for yourself.
When you have this space, you will find that it becomes your respite from the other outside influencers and factors in your life. Your family, your other job (if you are still working on something else while you build this new position) cannot come into this space – even if that means only during certain hours. Especially working from home, you must have a place that is only dedicated to you and this part of your life. Otherwise, you will find that the lines become blurred and you are not finishing up what you need to do to move ahead.
Additionally, give yourself a schedule that dedicates TIME to this new life. At least one hour a day should be set aside to focus on growing and creating this one thing. That does not include the groups and memberships that you are now a part of. This is time that is only for you and your own personal development in this role.
You have created, envisioned, planned and now are living the life that you have dreamed for yourself. I know that as you dedicate your energy to this dream, and are doing what you love, you will feed something that will grow exponentially and lead you to a happiness that is often left unpursued by those without the courage to do what you are doing!
