Life is a work of art. If you don’t like what you see, paint over it.
I don’t know who first said those words, but I love them for a few reasons!
First, life IS a work of art. It’s colorful, it’s deep, it’s full of emotion and sometimes controversy and it means different things to different people.
And like secondly, like art, it’s always perfect. Art is never wrong. It simply is what it is. And when an artist isn’t happy with what they see on canvas, they paint over it!
You are the artist of your own life. Your day to day existence is your masterpiece.
And, with brush in hand, you can add any color you want. You can paint soft or go crazy. If you are disappointed in that day’s results, you can paint all over it and start again. You can fix what’s there or start a completely blank canvas in a new direction!
But that’s not all.
When an artist sets out to create a painting, they do so from their soul. No one, not their friends, not their family, not their lover, can truly understand the place from which their art is born. Only the artist knows what his or her soul is trying to express.
And life is the same for you. You have your values, your desires, your motivations and they are private and unique to you. Only you can hear your soul’s song.
It’s only when you communicate it, express it and act on it that the people in your life are clued in! And even then, it’s still yours, and you need no validation, no permission to sing it.
Life can be any size, color or medium you decide upon, but what it shouldn’t be is blank!
Are you creating your masterpiece?? Are you coloring your life with things that move and inspire you? Are you expressing your truth?
It’s never too late!
You are your life’s Picasso. So pick up the brush and start creating a work of art you are proud to be living!
