Are you telling the truth?? YOUR truth? What I am asking is are you embodying your deepest desires, or running on autopilot, living by other people’s expectations and structuring your day around responsibility rather than joy?
How much of what you do day to day is about what you want to do, rather than what others are expecting you to do?
Success is not a destination; it is a FEELING. And true success can only be felt when we live lives that are aligned with who we are at our core.
Here are a few ways to know if you’ve fallen victim to the expectation trap:
- You are not excited about your day
- You have more scheduled hours than nonscheduled hours
- You find yourself making excuses to get out of certain commitments or WISHING you could.
Living by truth, on the other hand feels GREAT! When you take a moment to list your core values and what is most important to you, you might find that it’s time to shift a few things.
Make a list of the values that are most important to you—your top three!
Make a list of three things you LOVE to do, and determine how much of your day is spent doing them.
Pay attention to your enthusiasm level as you go to bed at night and get up in the morning. What is it on a scale of 1-10, above or below a 5??
It’s easy to come up with reasons why we can’t make a change. Maybe you’re thinking, “but I have bills to pay!”
One thing I know for sure is that what’s good for the soul is good for the bank account.
When you start living by your truth, the universe takes notice and sends opportunities your way. You operate on a higher plane and literally draw the right things and the right people to your awareness.
Life is too short to live by someone else’s rules.
Know what’s most important to you, know how you most want to feel and make sure that your day to day life is a reflection of those conclusions!
